The seventh edition of the Minymaku Kutju Tjukurpa Women’s Business Manual (WBM) has been produced as part of the suite of Remote Primary Health Care Manuals (RPHCM), through a collaboration between Central Australian Aboriginal Congress, the Central Australian Rural Practitioners Association, CRANAplus and Flinders University.

The other manuals in the suite are the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual (STM), the Clinical Procedures Manual for remote and rural practice (CPM), and the Medicines Book for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners (Medicines Book).

The Women’s Business Manual was initially developed in response to the wishes of Aboriginal women to keep women’s health private and separate from other health issues.
The 7th edition of the WBM

  • Provides essential information and ‘what to do’ treatment guidelines for women’s health issues in remote Australia
  • Has cross-references to the STM to avoid unnecessary duplication
  • Uses short, clear directives eg ‘Check …’, ‘Take blood …’, ‘Give …’.
  • Is a culturally respectful resource particularly relevant for female doctors, midwives, nurses, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health practitioners
